The Fruitvale area has seen recent big changes in community development. Most notably the opening of Fruitvale Station Shopping Center improved the area greatly with popular stores as Starbucks, Lucky’s, Office Depot and Hollywood Video. The nearby Fruitvale Transit Village has also revitalized the community by supporting various amenities such as a healthcare facility, child care center, a public library, housing and shops. Most recently the Cesar Chavez Education Center has opened its doors to 600 public elementary school students. The facility will provide much needed relief from overcrowded schools in the area and will serve the local community. |
